WOW Conference

The annual Winning Opportunities for Women (WOW) conference celebrates, honors, educates and motivates area women business leaders. Each year the agenda tackles the issues, information and heart of what makes women in business successful personally and professionally.

Speakers:

Mary RichardsonKeynote Speaker: Mary Richardson, Community Liaison for Steward Health Care System and former co-anchor of WCVB-TV’s Chronicle.

Topic: "Real Connections: Creating Real Opportunities"

Mary Richardson is currently the Community Liaison for Steward Health Care System. In this role, she provides a bridge between the Hospitals and the communities Steward serves.  This includes hosting and producing a series of web-based videos which can be seen by the public on the Steward web site and which highlight the special services and award-winning care offered by each of the six hospitals in the system. Richardson appears frequently at charity and business events, speaking about the work of Steward Health Care, and recounting the many adventures and travels of her Chronicle career.


Lynn Bromley, Region 1 Advocate for the SBA Office of Advocacy

Topic: "Developments in Women-owned Business"

Lynn Bromley is the Office of Advocacy’s regional advocate for region I, covering the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Bromley is the chief counsel for advocacy’s direct link to small business owners, state and local government agencies, state legislators, trade associations, and small business organizations throughout the region. Bromley was appointed to her post in December 2010.

Prior to her appointment, Bromley was the principal in Audax Group LLC, a Maine consulting practice specializing in business development and private/public partnerships. From January 2000 to December 2008, she served as a senator in the Maine Legislature where she was chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Business, Research and Economic Development. In addition Bromley was co-chair of the Maine Economic Growth Council. She has a master’s degree in social work from Boston College and a bachelor of arts degree from Bridgewater State College.


Curtis Sprouse, President and Chief Executive Officer of EurekaConnect.

Topic: “The Art of Listening”

Curtis Sprouse brings more than twenty years of experience in the high-tech, healthcare, pharmaceutical and finance to his position as President at EurekaConnect, LLC. As a founder and Executive of Boston Market Strategies, Inc. (www.BMSI3.com) for over eighteen years, Curt has worked with over 150 organizations including many Fortune 500 High Tech, Biotech and the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Curt has advised on business development, sales, marketing and clinical strategy.  Prior to founding BMSI, Curt was founder of a publicly traded company serving as CFO and COO. Curt served as Director of Special Projects for Mertech.


Mary McGarryMary McGarry Morris, Author

Mary McGarry's first novel Vanished was published in 1988. It was nominated for the National Book Award and the PEN/Faulkner Award. A Dangerous Woman was published in 1991 and was chosen by Time magazine as one of the “Five Best Novels of the Year.” It was made into a motion picture starring Debra Winger, Barbara Hershey, and Gabriel Byrne.

Songs In Ordinary Time was published in 1995. Two years later, it was chosen as an Oprah’s Book Club selection, which propelled it to the top of the New York Times Best Sellers List for many weeks, as well as making it an international best seller. Songs was made into a CBS television movie starring Sissy Spacek and Beau Bridges.  The highly acclaimed Fiona Range was published in 2000, followed by A Hole In The Universe in 2004, The Lost Mother in 2005, and The Last Secret in 2009.


Kelly DelaneyKelly Delaney, Owner of gourmet cake and pastry shop, Cakes for Occasions, Danvers, MA.

Kelly Delaney is a nationally celebrated baking expert who has grown her gourmet cake and pastry shop, Cakes for Occasions in Danvers, MA, into an incredibly successful business. Delaney’s brand has become synonymous with quality; each product is created with creativity and passion to create a defining moment for the customer. Delaney has had the opportunity to share her baking tips and expertise with consumers in a wide range of media markets.

Delaney and her products have been featured on NBC’s Today show, Foxbusiness.com, CNBC, New England Cable News and dozens of print publications. She is a regular guest on Boston’s Fox 25 Morning News and has appeared in both Gourmet and Yankee magazines as a part of a national ad campaign for King Arthur Flour.
