Event Location: Hampstead Public Library, 9 Mary E Clark Drive, Hampstead, NH 03841.
Do you know how to get the most from your health care? What is helpful or a hindrance to your search for a healthcare provider and the myriad of insurance issues? Pat Demers, Northern Essex Community College Assistant Dean of the Division of Health Professions, believes that people can do better for themselves in the health care arena. In this presentation, she will use what she’s learned in her 30 plus years as a nurse to help patients and their families navigate the unfamiliar and often frustrating world of healthcare. Topics she will discuss include dealing with catastrophic health issues, how to approach health care practitioners, interpreting the information you receive from your insurance provider, how to challenge an insurance claim, and much more.Demers has information that will be helpful to parents choosing care for their children, seniors and their children who are struggling with health issues connected to aging, and single adults, both young and middle-aged, who want the best care for themselves.
