Voted 2011 Band of the Year and Entertainer of the Year by New England Country Music Organization, The Tom Dixon Band delivers a heart pumping, foot-stomping beat that can only be viewed as a bit spicy, smooth, southern country rock.  The band has opened for such notable acts as The Zac Brown Band, Sugarland, Phil Vassar and Dusty Drake and will be opening for Alan Jackson at Meadowbrook this summer.

Who is the comedian/writer/actor that the Los Angeles Times calls “… quite likely the funniest entertainer you’ve never heard of… yet”? Local comedian Paul D’Angelo has been headlining A-list comedy clubs around the country for 20 years, entertaining hundreds of prominent corporate clients, and opening for over 50 international stars such as The Beach Boys, Tony Bennett, George Carlin, Joan Rivers and Dennis Miller.

The Haverhill Public Library at 99 Main Street, Haverhill, will host a free monthly workshop on eBooks & eReaders on the first Monday evenings of the month from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in the GHALP Computer Lab on the 2^nd floor. Bring your Kindle, Nook, or Sony eReader, or just watch our demonstration!

Four blues bands. One great night. Always a sell-out! This year’s exciting lineup includes the super funky classic R&B supergroup The Get Backs featuring Brian Templeton and Matt Stubbs; the ever-popular, old school jump/blues outfit Mr. Nick & the Dirty Tricks; the powerhouse vocals and cut throat guitar playing of The Lydia Warren Band, and the hard driving Mississippi styles roots/blues band the Ten Foot Pole Cats. By popular demand, plenty of dance floor space has been added!

For those who have never touched a computer or have limited mouse skills, this 2-hour class will introduce the basics of using a computer mouse and keyboard. We will then visit a number of Internet sites and learn some basic web browsing skills. Finally, you will learn how to go to a web site when you know its address. Classes require advance sign-up. Berkley grad Lindsay Straw is a guitarist, Irish bouzouki player, singer and composer. Expect an enlightening, charming opening set from her.

The Internet is a great source of information, and can also be lots of fun!  In this 2-hour class, we will begin by reviewing material from Internet I: Using a Mouse (February 14).  Then you will learn how to find good web sites and information using Google and other search tools.  The class will allow ample time for you to practice what you have learned and to do some searches of your own.  Note:  In order to take this class, you must have taken Internet I: Using a Mouse, or have good mouse skills.
