Chamber Accomplishments

Covid Business Support 

  • Our Covid Gift Card Program created and maintained restaurant gift card program for restaurants during Covid.
  • Helped chamber businesses get financial support and connected to resources during Covid

Economic development 

  • Summit on Smart Manufacturing Resiliency (June 16, 2023). Haverhill is developing a new advanced manufacturing business park, a new food innovation center downtown, and expanding its Ward Hill Business Park already home to many manufactures
    • The goal is to jumpstart these new developments with a regional smart manufacturing hub spearhead by a model smart factory, applying leading edge technologies for automation such as artifical intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), edge computing, robotics and 3D priniting, for new products and service development by industry and startups and workforce training for students and workers.

Workforce Development 

  • Access to Advancement Series: Monthly workshops on various professional and business topics to help up-skill current chamber member employees and educate on business related issues
  • Partnering with MakeIT Haverhill on industry specfic job fairs to help our businesses get directly connected to job seakers
  • Partnering with UMass Lowell and Northern Essex’s Community College on larger workforce development training for current and future industry growth (Advanced Manufacturing/IT/Climate Tech/Data Analytics)

Business Advocacy 

  • Chamber conducted statewide analysis and advocated on behalf of all Haverhill businesses at City Council during Annual Tax Classification Vote
    • Haverhill Chamber was able to succeed in stopping a tax raise for businesses
  • Haverhill Chamber has advocated at multiple city councils in Massachusetts and New Hampshire on behalf of their chamber members businesses who needed assistance with various obstacles

Small Business Support 

  • Chamber holds multiple networking opportunities and lead generating opportunities monthly to help entrepreneurs and small businesses grow, employee connect, and convene resources assistance, and connections to statewide resources for business support
  • Host numerous large events to celebrate businesses, organization and community members who have made an impact on the region

Tourism

  • advocated for historical sites across Haverhill to be reconized regionally to help tourism efforts
  • Cultivated relationships with Historical New England, largest New England historical preservation organization in the United States and headquarted in Haverhill, to help other historical sites across the region
  • Partnering with North of Boston Convention and Visitor’s Bureau on larger regional tourism efforts.
