YWCA Dedication of The Residence highlights organization’s mission of supportive community services for area women.

The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce was pleased to conduct a Ribbon Cutting on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 to mark the dedication of The Residence in Haverhill, in honor of former Executive Director, Mary B. O’Brien.

Under Ms. O’Brien’s leadership, the YWCA grew its mission and now offers more than 26 programs surrounding domestic and/or sexual violence, women’s health services, transitional housing, pre, after-school and summer children’s programs, gender-specific programs for girls, as well as health and fitness classes and programs.

The Residence is located on Winter Street. The recent remodel addressed needed maintenance and included modifications for handicap accessibility. The home offers single room apartments with shared common spaces, allowing for safe and affordable housing for local low-income women in need.
