Chamber Christmas Stroll is Back – With ALL the Trimmings and BETTER Than Ever!

For over twenty years, this downtown event has been a tradition for Haverhill residents and business owners, drawing thousands of attendees each year to see Santa and the lighting of the Christmas tree. This long standing tradition not only kicks off the Christmas season but provides holiday fun for families while highlighting local retailers, businesses and restaurants.

This year’s event will start with a Holiday Hat Parade and conclude with the lighting of the Christmas Tree in Washington Square. The Holiday Hat Parade begins at 2:00PM – families should meet outside Maria’s Restaurant. Other attractions throughout the day include Haverhill Family Eye Care’s “Despicable” friends meet and greet; Haverhill Bank’s life size snow globe which allows attendees a special photo opportunity; and children can enjoy special activities such as face painting and cookie decorating.

Plus, Performances by the Haverhill Idol winners, Pentucket Bank’s Santa’s Village, The Haverhill Mason’s Child Identification Kit effort and Med Expresses’ Holiday Train, which will be providing rides for children and adults alike throughout the downtown. The event is free and open to the public. To promote the spirit of the season, wandering carolers and a saxophone quartet will perform holiday songs and music. And of course, Santa will be on hand to light the Christmas tree!

The Chamber’s Christmas Stroll will take place on Saturday, December 5 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. All activities will take place in downtown Haverhill, including the Riverfront Cultural District triangle of Washington, Wingate, Granite and Essex Streets (and everything in between), as well as Merrimack Street, and Railroad and Washington Squares.

There will be opportunities to support the local non-profit community with donations of food, clothing, toys and personal care supplies with various “drop-off” sites throughout the area. In addition, attendees are invited to vote for their favorite “store-front” display as local retailers and business owners compete for the BEST STOREFRONT in the return of Creative Haverhill’s friendly-competition!
