The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the presentation of the Business of the Year Award to long-time Chamber Member and current Director, Paul Magliocchetti. The Award will be presented as part of the 25th Annual Business Awards Breakfast to take place next month.

This special award is the top honor at the Chamber’s Awards Breakfast and recognizes a business or organization for contributions above and beyond the typical in promoting their business, the community of Haverhill and the Chamber of Commerce. Special attention is paid to civic and community involvement, voluntary work on behalf of community charitable efforts over time and business and professional leadership beyond that expected in business.

About Attorney Magliocchetti:

Paul is a graduate of College of the Holy Cross and Suffolk University Law School. He has practiced law since 2002, becoming a Partner in his firm in 2004. In 2014 law partner Robert Jutras and Paul purchased the office building where the firm is located and took over the management responsibilities of the law firm. Since that time the practice has grown to be one of the largest, full service law firms in Greater Haverhill with 11 attorneys, 7 full-time and 4 of Counsel. SSJM also opened a second office in Woburn to expand the practice into Middlesex and Suffolk Counties.

In 2010 Paul became a Director with the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, and last year was elected to the Executive Committee. SSJM has also been host, last fall the firm co-sponsored an open house after-hours event at the Haverhill office and the firm will cosponsor other events with the Chamber. Acting as an advocate, Paul through the practice takes time to introduce new businesses to the Chamber and let them know about the benefits it provides within the community.

Along with his Partners, Paul serves on several Boards in the community, which include, the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, Bethany Homes, Greater Haverhill Foundation, Pentucket Bank, Haverhill Bank, Haverhill Public Library, and Holy Family Hospital. Paul is also an elected member of the Haverhill School Committee and coaches his son’s youth hockey and soccer teams.

When asked what one thing he is proud of last year Paul cites, “Last year the Haverhill High School Girls Volleyball team needed help raising money for a trip to Florida, so I reached out to my fellow business leaders in the Chamber. My Chamber colleagues rose to the occasion and donated over $5,000.00 for their trip. Because of their generosity, girls who could not have otherwise been able to afford the trip were able to participate.”

Greater Haverhill Foundation: The Greater Haverhill Foundation works every day to improve the quality of life and overall economic prosperity for the City of Haverhill. SCORE’s Haverhill branch office has served the local community for over 20 years. Over 100 counseling sessions were conducted last year in Haverhill, many of those first-time meeting happened in coordination with the Greater Haverhill Chamber. Many mentees have launched businesses, grown their business and improved their profitability over the course of the meetings further enhancing the vitality of the area, and its economic growth.
