 In Chamber News

nnounces the 25th Annual Christmas Stroll, this year powered by Covanta, to be held on Saturday, December 2nd, from 2:00-6:00 pm in downtown Haverhill.

The event will provide many of the same activities and offerings as previous Christmas Strolls, but for the first time will extend down Merrimack Street, providing additional shopping, dining and family fun activities. Included will be classic holiday favorites like photos with Santa, sponsored by Pentucket Bank, as well as Letters to Santa and new this year a 17 foot tall Ice Castle bouncy house!

All attendees will receive a map highlighting each local business that is providing an activity, performance or offering holiday treats. In addition to the downtown Haverhill businesses, the Christmas Stroll will feature pop-up shops in the lobby of 76 Merrimack Street (formerly known as The Landmark Building). Participating pop-up shops include some new retailers and some familiar, local favorites, offering clothing, gifts, health and beauty products and so much more.  A perfect time to start your holiday shopping!

Melinda Barrett, Haverhill City Councilor and owner of Barrett Specialty Foods commented “I’m thrilled the Christmas Stroll is going to include Merrimack Street. I think that Merrimack Street has a lot to offer. We are really happy that inside Barrett’s we will also host the Friends of the Haverhill Public Library.” The Friends shop will feature a variety of Haverhill themed items available for purchase.

The traditional Haverhill Tree Lighting ceremony will again serve as the finale to this delightful community event. All activities take place in downtown Haverhill. Merrimack Street will be closed off to traffic, while additional shopping, dining, and family friendly activities take place on Washington, Wingate, Emerson, and Essex Streets.
