 In Chamber News, Press Releases

KAF 2016 FlyerThe Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that this year’s Kid’s ArtsFEST will be bigger and more interactive for 2016! The Kid’s ArtsFest event which is held in downtown Haverhill annually has been scheduled for Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 11 to 4 PM and will sprawl along Washington Street, Washington Square and Merrimack Street. Last year 8k-10k attendees visited chamber booths, and downtown retail locations and participated in family oriented activities during the 2015 Kids ArtsFEST. This year we are expecting 10k visitors and are stepping up to bring even more activity, art and fun to festival goers!

This classic event will remain focused on the various arts represented through our member businesses and creative community, as well as the rich cultural experiences long existing in the city. Through creative activities, sensory stimulating performances and meaningful interactions with the five treasures, children and families will enjoy a full afternoon of discovery. Back by popular demand is the second stage featuring local musical and performing arts pieces coordinated and sponsored by the Steve Lyons Fund. New this year, will be appearances by Mary Poppins and the Ghostbusters! Rounding out the event will be Luna the Therapy Pig (courtesy of Have A Heart Animal Hospital) and the “Haverhill Idol” competition. Finalists in the Junior and Senior divisions will compete to be the next “Haverhill Idol.”

Once again, the goal of this event is to provide a fun, hands-on art experience for the whole family! From booths with art projects that children can make and take home to a variety of tasty foods to sample and purchase, to live entertainment, music and demonstrations by local artists; and more. Further, the local creative community will work to expose attendees to more than just fine arts, but also written & spoken arts, musical arts, dramatic & theatrical arts, martial arts, culinary arts and decorative arts.

Limited vendor space is still available and sponsorships are still accepted to bring even more fun, interactive options for attendees. If you want to play a role in the planning of this year’s KidsArtsFEST by joining the downtown events committee, please contact the Chamber office at 978-373-5663 or info@haverhillchamber.com.
