Microsoft expands partnerships in Haverhill

 In Chamber News

Leveraging relationships out of  Microsoft’s Kendall Square Cambridge campus, the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Microsoft is among our main sponsors for Hack Haverhill 2018, a civic technology hackathon, beginning Friday evening at UMass Lowell’s iHub in downtown Haverhill at Harbor Place.

The Microsoft team will be onsite to showcase new devices and technologies, as well as to offer prizes for the winning team.

Equally important, this is the beginning of a long and valuable relationship between Microsoft and the Haverhill community according to Dougan Sherwood, President and CEO of the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce.  “Microsoft entered Cambridge years ago with a plan to build their brand awareness through community engagement.  I’m really happy to see that their reach is now extending into Haverhill beginning with this Friday’s Hackathon.  In addition, the Microsoft Store in Salem, N.H., are our newest members of the  Chamber.  It’s important that we have strong local partners at Microsoft now a part of our community.  We’re off to a great start.”

“Microsoft’s involvement in Haverhill is really exciting, especially considering the growing trend of young tech workers moving to the City. Haverhill’s desirable urban living attracts talent and that talent attracts industry.” said Nate Robertson Haverhill’s Assistant Director of Economic Development

Melissa Dunham, Community Development Specialist for Microsoft in Salem said, “Microsoft Store is excited to support Hack Haverhill 2018 and be the newest members of the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce. Swing by our tech room at the UMass Lowell Innovation Hub to re-charge, demo, and check out the latest in Microsoft products such as WMR, HoloLens, Xbox, and Surface.”For more information on Hack Haverhill, visit www.hackhaverhill.com.
