Common GroundHaverhill, MA – The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that significant donations have just been made to several local charitable organizations as a result of two recent events. In the spirit of giving and community the Chamber initiated a “donation center” for the collection of non-perishable foods, new hats, mittens scarves and socks, toys and children’s items and personal care products. Bins were set up at partner locations throughout downtown Haverhill during the ChillFest event held on December 6, 2014. Bins were left in place until the 16th.

Partnering businesses playing host to the donation bins were: The Paint & Wine Lounge; Studio at 13 Salon; Haverhill Beef; Improv Dance; The Color {mint}; Dr. Richard Jasiak; Haverhill TV & Appliance; Haverhill Family Eye Care, Bethany Homes, Boys & Girls Club, Career Resources and Child Development & Education. All items collected were sorted and distributed to those chamber member organizations with the ability to directly impact and improve the season for those most in need.

Wreaths were decorated to reflect donating business’ industry or personality, like this one created by Positive Images which includes a beautiful scarf intricately woven to look like floral accents.

Additionally, the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce held their first Annual Wreath Stroll event, hosted by the Barking Dog Ale House on December 9th. The event was a holiday gathering with plenty of food, networking and cheer, but also featured  fabulously decorated wreaths designed by local businesses. Those wreaths were put on display and made available to bidders through a silent auction. Monies collected that evening made it possible for the chamber to donate more than $500 in cash and a load of new toys to the Toys for Tots campaign in the Merrimack Valley.
