Haverhill Cultural Council Receives $45,400 From Mass Cultural Council, Switches to Direct Granting

Haverhill, MA – On August 27, 2021, The Haverhill Cultural Council received $45,400 from The Massachusetts Cultural Council and plans to start accepting grant applications starting September 1st, 2021.

The HCC has also switched from a reimbursement format for grant payments to a direct grant program, eliminating the need for recipients to have to pay for capital expenditures, supplies or stipends out of pocket.

“We’re glad that the Mass Cultural Council has decided to back our cultural programs for another year, and at a much needed time” said Nathan Webster, Council Chair. “As we continue to see the city of Haverhill grow as a cultural stop for artists, musicians, storytellers and others, this grant money affords us the opportunity to keep Haverhill on the cutting edge of arts programs geared towards children, teens and seniors. We strive to include applicants of all cultural backgrounds, as will be displayed at our Multicultural Festival Haverhill 2021, to be held virtually Sundays in September at 8pm, broadcast simultaneously on HC Media, the city’s public access channel, and HCC’s YouTube Channel by searching “MCF Haverhill”

Those who would like to apply for a grant from the Haverhill Cultural Council may visit www.mass-culture.org/haverhill between September 1st and October 15th. There will be a grant applicant information session on September 9th, held by The Mass Cultural Council. You can register by visiting https://massculturalcouncil.org/event/lcc-grant-application-walk-through/
