Greater Haverhill Chamber Congratulates One of Their Own on YWCA Academy of Women Induction

The Board of Directors of the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the induction of Chamber President/CEO Stacey Bruzzese to the 2015 YWCA Academy of Women. Bruzzese was recognized at the Tribute to Women Luncheon on Tuesday, October 6, at DiBurro’s in Haverhill.

Nominated by Attorney Thomas J. Sullivan, Bruzzese was recognized for outstanding leadership in the local business community and an unwavering commitment to the growth and development of the chamber’s member businesses and the community. Bruzzese’s greatest accomplishments to date include a renewed sense of partnership with both the city of Haverhill and the surrounding towns, as well as an increased showing of support from the chamber membership, as evident in increased event participation. In just over a year the new memberships have doubled in amount, and the programming has increased three-fold.

“This award is really a testament to all of the hard work and dedication that we have seen since Stacey’s arrival,” Said Tom Mortimer, CEO of Haverhill Bank and Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Greater Haverhill Chamber. “Her commitment to the community of Haverhill and the local businesses has made us a vibrant Chamber and a stronger region. The board of directors is extremely proud of the work that she is doing,” Mortimer concluded.

Stacey is passionate about providing support for businesses and creating opportunities for growth and development within those business entities and the community. She is also dedicated to giving back to the communities she lives in and works in. Stacey is active in Haverhill Rotary, serves on the Merrimack Valley Workforce Investment Board and Whittier Vocational Regional Technical High School’s Superintendent’s Advisory Committee, holds a Board position with both the Merrimack Valley Local Chapter of National Association of Professional Women and the Windham Endowment for Community Advancement (NH) and serves her Parish of St. Matthew as a catechist and Eucharistic minister.

The YWCA Tribute to Women, an uplifting event that includes an Academy of Women Reception and Honoree Awards Luncheon, is in its 21^st year. Annually the YWCA Academy of Women Committee develops this program to honor a small group of women living and/or working in Essex County or Southern New Hampshire areas who have made outstanding contributions in their careers and communities. This event speaks directly to the YWCA’s mission to empower women and eliminate racism.  The YWCA strives to give women – all women – the tools to overcome challenges, to become self-sufficient, to give back to their communities, and to realize their dreams.
