HAVERHILL CHAMBER PREPARES TO CELEBRATE A CENTURY OF COMMERCE IN THE REGION

The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce is preparing to celebrate 100 years of Annual Dinner & Awards Celebrations this coming June. In support of “A Century of Commerce” GHCC will host several special events AND be collecting memories, artifacts and images from the past 100 years in Haverhill business. The effort will culminate with a milestone event, the 100^th Annual Dinner and Awards Celebration on June 2, 2016. This gala event will be a time to recognize the history of business and commerce in the City of Haverhill, from Shoe Manufacturing to Creative Economy, and celebrate a century of business growth and development in our region. Plans to honor businesses with longevity through special awards, such as the Longevity Award, Half-Century Award and the Centenarian Award are already in the works.

In addition to the special awards, the Chamber’s Annual Charles E. Billups Award, Jerry Loy Award, Community Leader award and the Chamber Service award will also be presented to very deserving local business owners for their outstanding efforts during the past year.

As a way of allowing for the involvement of the local community at large, supporting the economic growth and vitality of the Greater Haverhill area, the Chamber will launch the “100 for $100” campaign. Any member of the community, including residents, past and current civic leaders, retired business professionals and others vested in the betterment of the Merrimack Valley can participate by becoming an Allied Member.

Allied Members* will be recognized in perpetuity through an engraved plaque or sign to be unveiled at the Annual Dinner on June 2, 2016. In addition all Allied Members will be eligible for recognition in the Chamber’s “Business Edge” newsletter, enjoy discounted member pricing at networking and special events, receive the weekly “Tuesday’s at 10” eNewseltter to keep up to date on all Chamber happening for the entire year.
